Positive Tech
Dr. Lee was the Principal Investigator and main organizer of a 2-day long conference called Positive Tech, that brought an interdisciplinary group of scholars and tech developers to discuss the emergence of innovative practices that utilize mobile phone technology to reach underserved populations. Three foci converged at this meeting: (1) the use of mobile phone technologies to deliver psychosocial interventions, defined as programs that aim to improve people’s mental health, psychological wellbeing, and social relationships; (2) bridging research-practice-implementation gaps, that is, bringing together scholars and technology developers (i.e., software programmers and graphic designers) to discuss challenges of implementing empirically-based intervention approaches within the various technology-delivered formats; and (3) extension of promising and effective models to underserved groups, defined as those who are most in need of intervention and least likely to receive it, due to factors discussed in more detail below.
