Men’s Health, Fatherhood, and Relationships Study

father playing with infant and football
Dr. Shawna J. Lee is co-investigator of the Men’s Health, Fatherhood, and Relationships Study, a cross-sectional survey of young men ages 18 – 35. The survey examined men’s knowledge of early child development, dimensions of parenting, and their violence victimization and perpetration. The survey was conducted with a nationally representative survey panel established through probability sampling of the U.S. population. Dr. Lee's work on this project examines men’s knowledge of infant development, as well as factors such as demographic characteristics and psychosocial factors that predict men’s knowledge of infant development.  Results point to the need for anticipatory guidance to fathers about developmentally appropriate expectations for infants.
